Grenache March 04, 2015
2013 Greenock Creek Conerstone Grenache
Wine Rating

90
Greenock Creek is an iconic producer from the Barossa, they are true to their style year in and year out, crafting wines from ancient vines with power and concentration.

The 2013 Grenache has a heady aroma of morello cherry, spiced oak and a touch of leather, the palate is full bodied with a rounded mouth feel on entry that gains a little heat and spice as the 15.5% alcohol makes itself known. The thing i like most about this wine is it's savoury aspect, it’s not a jubey or simple expression of the variety, there are layers of dark fruits and spice.

This wine needs a couple of years and some time in the decanter to show it’s best.
