Review Detail
2012 Tscharke Stonewell Grenache
Wine Rating
94
Fruit was sourced from the Estate Stonewell vineyard, with the wine of immense quality given the vineyard age was just 4 years when this wine was produced. In terms of the winemaking process, 50% whole bunch was included in the ferment after which it spent 12 months in older french oak.
A reductive nose that is steeped in dark cherry, rhubarb and savoury spice. The palate has good depth of red fruits set alongside integrated tannins and balanced acidity; finishing with flashes of liquorice and dark cherry there is a lot to like about this wine.
