Review Detail
2014 Willunga 100 Grenache
Wine Rating
93
A winery that is known for their Grenache, and it’s not hard to see why when they produce an entry level wine at $22 as good as this.
Wild strawberry and dusty raspberry fruit on the nose, the palate is fruit forward initially with juicy raspberry fruit and sweet spice, but don’t be fooled there is a lot more to this wine than generous fruit, the tannins are fine and framing, giving a sappy aspect that works well with the fuller red fruits and gentle baking spices. It is the slight earthiness on the finish that i enjoy most about the wine, it is this textural counterpoint that takes this wine to a level well above it’s price point.
