Grenache August 07, 2017
2016 Purple Hands Old Vine Grenache
Wine Rating

91
Produced from old bush vine Grenache the wine was fermented using wild yeast with 30% whole bushes before being basket pressed to older oak for 9 months of ageing on lees.

A vibrant but dark hue, the nose has floral red cherry and plum that’s backed by faint pepper and Christmas cake spice.

The wine is medium bodied with a flowing line of acidity and fine but resolved tannins that take on some savoury nuance but play second fiddle to driving dark cherry fruit. There is a touch of textural grip to finish with lingering wild strawberry and cherry.
