Review Detail
2014 d'Arenberg The Derelict Vineyard Grenache
Wine Rating
92
So often a very good example of McLaren Vale Grenache, the 2014 release from d’Arenberg is no different. There are top notes of vanillin oak alongside sweeter potpourri spice and red cherry fruit on the nose. It’s a medium to full bodied wine with a steady backdrop of strawberry and cherry fruit that has a recessed baseline of savoury tannin and some kirsch like liquor. The finish has a bitter dark chocolate alongside black cherry fruit.
This is an impressive and impactful Grenache that is bound to age
