Review Detail

2018 d’Arenberg The Derelict Vineyard Grenache
Wine Rating

91
The wine is produced from old bush vine Grenache that has been aged in a mixture of new and older French oak for 12 months. The wine gives a generous deep red in the glass with a nose that is about structure and density of dark cherry, earth and the faintest note of spice.

A full bodied Grenache that has the tannin structure and concentration of dark berry fruit with cocoa and some sweeter raspberry like notes that lighten the mid palate. The finish is drying and steeped in cherry fruit and the drying tannins d'Arenberg is known for.
