Review Detail
2016 Charles Cimicky Autograph Grenache Shiraz
Wine Rating
91
An imposing bottle, and coming in at 17% alcohol this is a bold expression of Barossa but does hold balance and structure. The wine gives an Inky deep red in colour with a nose that takes on earth and old leather alongside primary plum, dark cherry and integrated spice.
The wine carries its alcohol well, there is depth of drying black cherry and plum with tannins that have structural impact, yet a suppleness . Acidity is well handled to finish, giving drive and focus to dark berry fruits and a final embellishment of cured meats.
