This wine comes from the Flerieau Peninsula with the blend Cabernet dominant making up 53%. The wine has seen 9 months in American oak, which is evident on the nose and palate.
The nose is attractive with peppery blackberry, a cedar vanillin lift and high notes of tomato leaf.
The wine is medium bodied, with an enjoyable tension between leaner blackcurrant and leafy cabernet characters, the tannins are grainy and well contrasted by spicy oak influences. The wine finishes with drying blackcurrant and an ever so slight astringency. Very good value
