The 2011 Barossa Tower Cabernet Merlot is a medium red in colour, with the nose showing cedary blackcurrant that is backed by subtle olive characters
The palate is medium bodied, with an enjoyable interplay between dusty dark berried fruits, fine grain tannins and well-controlled acidity. The input of oak is secondary and adds to the chocolate undertones on the mid to back palate.
The wine finishes with enough tannin and fruit to suggest it will reward a couple of years in the cellar, but is imminently drinkable now. A wine that shows good value and quality from the 2011 vintage.
