Tasting
Fox Creek remains a bit of a sleeper in McLaren Vale, I have always recognised them for the quality and intensity of their Reserve releases but was pleasantly surprised at the quality across the range at all price points.
Jim's Script is a Bordeaux blend that is made up of Cabernet Sauvignon (61%), Merlot (27%), Cabernet Franc (8%) and Petit Verdot (4%).
The nose opens with leafy blackcurrant, olive and tobacco, the palate is tightly bound with concentrated black fruits, juicy acidity and compressed tannins that look forward to time in the bottle to unfurl.
The wine has great varietal definition and is a very good representation of New World winemaking for an Old World blend. The finish has classy black fruits with juicy acidity and leather notes.
