Tasting
Looking back on my tasting notes I had scrawled seductive and sexy' as my overarching thoughts of this great wine. Cabernet dominant wines don't get much better than this in Australia, and should continue to remind people how great Yarra Cabernet can be in particular.
The nose has an array of aromatics ranging from blackberry and blackcurrant to licorice, tobacco and wood spice. Each return to the glass gives something slightly different. The complexity of the nose is mirrored by the palate with a beautiful balance that is formed through the interplay of flowing acidity, a layered, fine and drying tannin structure and a truly superb display of dark and red fruits. The finish is rounded and supported by vanillin spice as well as the sum of all parts displayed on the palate.
Worth the price.
