2010 Katnook Estate Cabernet Sauvignon

The 2010 release is one of the best I have tried from this winery so far. The colour is a glossy dark red that borders on black. The nose is decadent and concentrated but still has elegance with black fruits, drying olive and plush vanillin oak jumping out of the glass.

The palate is youthful and packed with ripe blackberry fruit that laps up the oak, the tannins have grip, and the acid structure gives the wine focus and length.

The wine is still quintessentially Coonawarra in terms of concentrated dark fruits, cedary oak and a touch of eucalyptus.

The finish has very good length with some dark chocolate characters from the oak adding to the berry fruits.
