Tasting
This is the first Moss Wood Cabernet Sauvignon that i have had for a number of years, it is undoubtedly an Aussie classic, with the 2010 being a little fuller and worked than other premium Margaret River wines.
It gives an oak laden nose with ripe blackberry and currant; running in parallel there are floral aromatics against dashes of milk chocolate. The nose doesn't scream varietal definition but exudes polish.
The wine is layered with a soft fullness in the mouth and an undercurrent of power - drying tannin and proportioned oak keep themselves relevant against quality rich French oak. The wine has great density of dark fruits and lingers with cocoa notes.
I look forward to seeing this in a number of years.
