A unique wine on many accounts, it is Cabernet produced from Orange that is aged for close to a decade prior to release, as well as being in a champagne bottle and sealed with crown seal.
The colour is a medium red, with the nose having orange bitters, black cherry and earth; the palate is medium bodied, and decidedly savoury with fine tannins that have ample grip and give a graphite like aspect to the wine. In terms of fruit there is a subtelty to the cherry fruit hidden amongst a web of briary, earthen influence. The finish is a tad short on the fruit, but the savoury tannin impact lasts with a touch of pepper.
I can't say that i have ever had a wine quite like it, it will polarise some, but it is nothing if not interesting.
