Pyrenees is a region that produce wines of elegance, structure and longevity when in the right hands. This is exactly what John Harris from Mitchell Harris has achieved, crafting a wine that shows enough now, but has layers to reveal in the years to come.
The wine was sourced from the Peerick Vineyard with 15% whole bunches included in the fermentation and spending 18 months in French oak of which 15% were new.
The nose is a delicate interplay between black currant and black cherry that is afforded a suggestion of mint, true to the region.
Delicious dark fruits carry through on the palate with the tannins incredibly fine but tightly bound and oak giving elegance as opposed to richness at this point in the wines development.
There is a dark chocolate aspect to finely structured black fruits to finish with understated mint adding a final embellishment.
