2017 Oakridge Original Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon.

The wine has been released to celebrate 40 years since the establishment of the original vineyard in Seville and also correlates to a wonderful Yarra Cabernet vintage. The wine was cold soaked prior to ferment and macerated on skins for a further 3 weeks post, it was then matured in French oak for 15 months.
A youthful red in the glass, the nose is tightly bound with redcurrant and blackberry fruit to bay leaf and green olive; cocoa and a touch of cedar oak are secondary influences. This is a wine of immense concentration and has a structure that slowly unfurls itself; it's safe to say it has decades ahead. Bitter dark chocolate is layered amongst the layers of tannin with dark fruits having a briar edge and building in richness across the palate. There are varietal herbaceous notes that give a final embellishment to black fruits with coffee tones to finish, the length is incredible.
