2018 Oakridge Local Vineyard Series Barkala Cabernet Sauvignon

2018 was a classic growing season with very good yields and near perfect conditions when harvesting, the grapes for this wine were produced from the Barkala vineyard and the wine was kept on skins for approximately a month before ageing in french oak for 15 months.

This is a floral, pretty and moreish example of Yarra Valley Cabernet that is drinking very well in it's youth but will age well. There is characteristic cassis and a sweetness of tobacco and cedar oak on the nose. The palate has lovely lines with fine tannins and flowing acidity that shows an understated bracken and tomato leaf note; There is drying blackberry fruit and dark cocoa with very good length to finish.
