2018 Oakridge Original Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon

Oakridge was established in 1978 with the grapes for this wine sourced from the original plantings. The wine was de-stemmed before cold soaking prior to fermentation, with a post fermentation maceration for four weeks and ageing for 15 months in French oak.

A deep red but youthful purple hues, the nose has beautiful aromatics with a floral edge to blackberry fruit gentle oak spice and tobacco. The palate has a tension and drive but maintains concentration and a svelte interplay between oak and concentrated black fruits. Cigar box and dry spice add complexity to the mid palate and are pulled along by juicy acidity. The finish is long a finely tuned and waiting for the coming decades to unfold.
