Tasting
The grapes for this wine were sourced from Seppeltsfield's Great Terraced vineyard with vines over 50 years of age. It was produced in the restored 1888 Gravity cellar, a piece of winemaking history that uses gravity rather than pumps to move wine from fermentation vats to barrel.
The wine is a light and youthful red, the fact the wine didn't see any oak has helped maintain delicate and aromatic Grenache flavours of fresh raspberry.
Delicate spices weave in and out, amply supported by supple raspberry and cherry fruits. There is just enough grippy texture, that accentuates the wines freshness and spice to finish.
A great example of the variety when minimal intervention is the key.
