This wine to my knowledge may be the only Lagrein produced from Mornington with the Italian variety sparsely planted across Australia.
The wine in typical Lagrein fashion is a deep red in the glass, the nose shows some cedary french oak, under which there is a leathery expression of blackberry and red cherry fruits.
The palate is medium to full bodied with some attractive dark fruits on entry that get taken over by commanding tannins, there is bright acid and rounding vanillin oak on the long but one dimensional finish.
This wine needs time to gain more secondary complexity, a characteristic Lagrein is known for.
