This wine is sourced from a 3.6 acre bush vine block of Mourvedre that was planted in 1918. It is a wine of two halves, it begins with rich aromatics of vanillin oak, and depth of strewed red and blue fruits, but on the palate fights hard against hard savoury aspects that are juxtaposed against spiced raspberry fruit. As the fruit fades the wine more angular components take over and lead to a finish accentuated by pencil shavings.
