A youthful red to purple, with top notes of savoury blackberry and raisin with sullen rosemary and sage spice giving the nose plenty of interest.
There is depth of fruit with plum and blackberry supported by taught and well proportioned tannin and oak, giving a nice counterpoint as the wine fills out on the mid palate , there is a background old leather that works well with the bright acidity that frames the considerable length to finish which also sees a return of the bouquet garni spices.
Strange bedfellows Petit Verdot and Carmenere, but a delicious wine.
