Tasting
I have a soft spot for Lagrein, after trying Cobaw Ridge a decade ago it's a variety that i seek out, and even make some. The Lagrein produced by Serafino is a great expression of the variety and available at an incredible price point.
A deep but lively red in the glass, the nose gives juicy raspberry and dark cherry which extends to the palate, the backbone of bright red fruits benefits from a suggestion of leather with expansive fruit driven length to finish. Drinking well now but sure to get better over the shorter term develop some secondary complexities.
