2020 Bonny Doon Vineyard Le Cigare Volant

The wine is a blend of 42% Grenache, 31% Cinsaut, 24% Syrah, 2% Petite Sirah and 1% Counoise. The wine is a vibrant medium red in the glass, with aromatics that are equally as vibrant. The nose sees spiced red cherry and wild strawberry with top notes of violets and earth. The palate opens with a mix of blue and red fruits that have good generosity before a slow and gradual build of tannins that take on bitter dark chocolate, a touch of aniseed, brooding plum and blackberry. There is an enjoyable influence of pepper and cured meats to finish. A very well composed blend.
