2022 Angullong Fossil Hill Sangiovese

A vibrant and glossy red in the glass, the nose is attractive with dark cherry taking on notes of rose petals and licorice. The palate has more than enough fruit, and there is a definite contrast to the racy acidity and savoury tannins that have substantial impact on the mid palate. The finish is a little brisk in terms of acidity and doesn't let the fruit shine as much as it could at this point in the wines development, but will be interesting to look at it in a few years.
