A great colour given the wines age, but it is worth noting this wine was from a magnum.
In terms of the nose it shows mature gamey characters with savoury cherry and a little clove spice.
The palate is complex and textural, it begins with light red cherry fruit that becomes more masculine and meaty, the tannins are firm but give direction to the wine rather than being distracting.
The acid structure on the finish gives the impression this wine will be around for a while, with the acid accentuating the length of drying cherry fruits.
