A medium red hue in the glass with a slightly duller hue towards the rim, the nose gives perfumed dark cherry and rhubarb with background notes of undergrowth and beautifully integrated spice.
This would have been a tough young wine, with the taut backbone of acidity that's really hitting it's stride as it nears it's 10th birthday, it's this mineral almost slate like core that allows drying dark cherry, fresh earth, lingering baking spice and citrus zest make a formidable impression, the wine finishes with drying dark cherry.
About as Burgundian as you can get in terms of style, a delicious wine that will go another decade.
