Tasting
This wine was tasted blind amongst an impressive lineup of new and old world wines, the flinty, mineral nose made it almost instantly identifiable as top class Burgundy. It was certainly consumed too early, some even calling it vinicide, however it was a tremendous wine that will only get better in years to come.
A medium red in colour, the nose is flinty and mineral with dark cherry, dried meat and baking spices.
The palate has an acid and tannin structure that will see this wine living past it's 20th birthday. There is brambly forrest floor characters and just enough ripe red cherry to give some richness and fullness to the wine. The length is considerable, with extended cellaring to be rewarded.
