The Crown Prince is considered the entry level wine to the Bass Phillip range, however the 2010 is punching well above its weight with a funky burgundian like nose of dusty cherry and savoury plum fruits. The palate is textural yet restrained, building slowly across the journey. There is stemmy dark fruits that get a spicy lift and drying tannin influence almost simultaneously that drives focus and depth on the finish.
A great wine that i enjoyed just as much as the much more expensive premium release for 2010.
