This wine is sourced from a number of vineyards that have exceptional provenance if you excuse the pun, namely Darriwill, Grassy Point, Pierrepoint and Sinclair. Scott Ireland has been crafting excellent Pinot for a number of years with the 2010 blend representing exceptional value and showcasing adept winemaking with characteristic savoury, whole bunch characters that are appealing.
A light red hue in the glass, a complex nose that gives beetroot, sweet stem and background forrest floor aromas. The palate has freshly tilled earth and undergrowth at it's centre, dark cherry and generous spice give a textural counterpoint. The finish lingers, with bright acidity and gentle spice working alongside dark cherry.
