Scotchmans Hill was one of the first wineries in the broader Geelong region to differentiate themselves as a producer from the Bellarine Peninsula. The wine itself is characteristically Bellarine with a structural savoury core at the wines centre.

A medium red hue in colour, the nose has forest floor, meat and along with subtle and aromatic spices that evolve with time in the glass.

The palate is medium to full bodied, however there is still varietal definition and a layered experience that is not overwhelmed by tannin and oak. The wine shows black cherry and rhubarb with an earthy aspect. There is definite vanillin oak, but in this instance it adds spice with more than enough fruit to be balanced. The finish is dry and complex with lingering spiced cherry.

Time will be very kind to this wine.
