I will start off by saying that if i tasted this wine blind, i would bet my life on it being a spicy Shiraz, rather than a Mornington Pinot Noir.
The nose has lots of oak, and to my nose it is more than likely American given the vanillin and coconut aromas.
The palate has lashings of oak and dark fruits, with the only real Pinot character the spice that appears on the mid to back palate, there is a nice acid structure that constrains the decadent palate.
The finish is dense and long, but a little one dimensional.
Overall, not a bad wine, but leave your thoughts about what a Pinot should be at the door.
