2011 Shadowfax Black Label Pinot Noir

This is the first black label that has been produced by Shadowfax since the 2003 vintage with the grapes from Bannockburn in the Geelong wine region. This wine is about as good as you get from a challenging vintage with 65% whole bunch an indicator that the fruit must have been in good condition.

The wine is a medium red in colour, the nose gives stem, freshly tilled earth and wild cherry; it's funky and interesting.

There is textured acidity and framing tannins that play well with the sappy cherry fruit on the palate, the length on the finish is considerable with french oak supporting.
