The 2012 Clyde Park Estate is built in a similar vein to it's big brother stablemate the Block D, with fruit extraction and oak presence more forward than the wines hailing from this vineyard in previous years. It is still a varietal Pinot, but has less of the savoury and earthy structure that the Geelong region is becoming known for.
The wine is a medium to dark red in colour, the nose shows more dark than red fruits and is backed by spiced oak characters.
The medium to full bodied palate gives dense raspberry and dark cherry, the tannins are full and oak provides gentle spice and a vanillin lift. The wine has good length to finish and will reward time in the cellar.
