2012 Hoddles Creek 1er Cru Pinot Noir

A great example of Australian Pinot, tasted blind you would find it hard to pick the difference between this and a top burgundy, there is a prettiness to the wine, with a fine filament of mineral acidity and savoury structure that gives complexity and great texture.

A light red in the glass, a nose of dark red cherry, brambly forrest floor aromas and brown baking spices.

The plate has a spicy, stalky undertone, additional time in oak and whole bunch inputs give structure and contrast between sweeter stem and oak and savoury dark cherry fruit.

Very good length finish, will reward cellaring over the next decade.
