Lightfoot & Sons craft wines from their small vineyard in the Gippsland wine region that was planted in 1995, initially they made small batches of wine for their own and friends enjoyment but under the guidance of Alastair Butt and Tom Lightfoot the wines are commercially available.
The wine is a light to medium red in colour and has a delicate nose of red fruits and forest floor aromas. There is precise acid and supportive tannin that is in great balance with structural and earthy cherry fruit on the palate.
The finish is focussed and elegant and I look forward to seeing where this goes over time, it is a tremendous value for money Pinot Noir.
