2012 Lucinda Estate Pinot Noir

It's not often i put down a glass of wine and say i'm disappointed, however this is one such example. This wine had the potential to be excellent but instead found itself shrouded by overt oak, allowing it to only touch on the varietal and concentrated cherry fruits hidden somewhere within.

The nose is laden with charred french oak, background notes of sweet spice and sappy cherry are just evident.

The palate shows even more oak than the nose, it does induce generous spice, with the wine showing some fruit on the mid palate before oak again steals the show.

Some will adore this wine, there is just too much oak fore me.
