Michael Hall is a relatively small scale producer who consistently makes wines that showcase the best varietal characters of the region it's from and showcases great winemaking technique with oak and tannin integration a consistent feature.
The 2012 release has benefited from a few years in bottle and gives a light red colour in the glass, the nose shows dark cherry and plum fruit initially with sweeter wild strawberry coming out with time in the glass. There is a flowing structure to the wine with supple tannins supported by generous strawberry and cherry fruit before savoury spice and rhubarb give dimension to the finish.
