Tasting
2012 was a great year for Mornington Pinot Noir, in fact it seems to have been a great year for most varieties in South Eastern Australia. The 2012 release from Moorooduc Estate shows a combination of quality fruit and considered winemaking. The wine is an honest varietal expression of bright and concentrated dark cherry and spice, and has a stemmy character that adds subtletly to the nose and structure the palate. The wine is fleshy and medium bodied with vanillin oak providing an elegant and soft backdrop for drying dark cherry fruits. The wine has ample concentration and length to finish, and will undoubtedly benefit form time in the cellar.
