Ocean Eight represents life after the much heralded Kooyong for Chris and Gail Aylward after it was sold to Port Phillip Estate in 2004.
In true Mornington style the wine is a delicate light red in the glass with a nose that gives spicy sweet vanillin oak that is backed by pristine red cherry fruit.
Dense wild strawberry, and vibrant acidity dominate with a peacocks tail of spice and concentration framing what is an elegant but firm Pinot; a powerful fist in a padded velvet glove.
Drinking well now, and an investment for the future.
