A peculiar blend, or at least an honest representation on the label of Pinot Noir with some Shiraz blended into it ! The addition of a small amount of Shiraz added savoury peppery influences and structural tannins that aid both mouth feel and the wines ability to reward longer term cellaring.
This is definitely a Pinot on the nose that sits on the wild strawberry, tart cherry and sweet stem side of the spectrum. The palate is delicate and well structured with fine filaments of tannin supporting wild strawberry and subtle baking spice that leads to a drying, peppery red fruited finish.
