A dark hue for a pinot, the wine lacks varietal definition on the nose with one dimensional stewed fruits and sappy oak. The palate is nondescript and doesn't have the poise that you would expect from the variety, broad red fruits combine with a brambly earthiness on the mid to back palate. The tannins have a bitterness and metallic nature to finish, detracting from some of the more interesting savoury characters. Length is good.
