Only 75 dozen produced with a meagre 0.6 tonne per acre. The wine was 100% whole bunch and aged in older oak.
The nose is seductive and framed by stemmy whole bunch characters with bright cherry fruit and some more sappy notes. Almost Burgundian in style. The use of whole bunch also gives a lovely sweetness to the nose.
There is an attractive cranberry and cherry thread that builds with savoury nuance and bristles with fresh earth, this is a wine for the future, with an acid and tannin profile that will go a decade plus. The finish lingers with smokey spice and cherry.
Track it down if you can !
