This is an atypical release from Lane's End in the Macedon Ranges when compared to the exceptional 2014 Pinot Noir. It is distinctly savoury with menthol, rosemary and dark cherry on the nose.
The palate has dark cherry and rhubarb with taut acidity. Charcuterie and graphite notes work in amongst sullen darker fruits but there is an overwhelming drying character to the wine on the finish.
Not sure what this will do over time.
