A medium red hue in the glass, the nose is initially reductive but with time in the glass reveals sweet red cherry and wild strawberry with impact of French oak in terms of both spice and a veneer or richness.
The palate is sweetly fruited initially but builds nicely in terms of both structure and complexity. The broad cherry and strawberry notes conform to a slightly savoury, slightly herbaceous set of tannins that are a great contrast to the wines richer characters. It is this savoury note that is a lingering hallmark of the finish with earthen, almost sour dark cherry it's running mate.
