2015 Shadowfax Macedon Ranges Pinot Noir

Shadowfax continue to do good things, i've been a fan of their wines for a long time and recent releases continue to go from strength to strength. In terms of 2015 Pinot Noir, wines have been released from both Geelong and the Macedon Ranges which are two of the most exciting Pinot regions in the country. Both wines are well made, but more than anything showcase the attributes of the region from which they were sourced.

A light red hue in the glass, the nose gives pristine and tightly bound cherry fruit with subtle stem notes and dusting of aromatic spice.

Tightly bound vanillin oak gives a spicy sheath to dark cherry fruit, the tannins are drying and balanced. There is an underlying mineral edge to the wine giving mouthfeel and focus; drinking exceptionally well now, but setup for the long term.
