The fruit for this inaugural release was sourced from the Freshwater Point Vineyard on the Tamar River in northern Tasmania. The grapes were shipped across the Bass Straight to the winery in Mornington where the wine was fermented using wild yeast and aged in second use and older French oak for 12 month prior to bottling without fining or filtering.
A more fruit forward expression of Pinot Noir when compared to the Ten Minutes wines sourced from Mornington. The nose is bursting with cherry fruit, flashes of bracken and a touch of alcohol warmth.
On the palate you are met with attractive red berry fruits with a suppleness of tannin that melds with a fullness of cherry compote thats soaked up generous oak spice. The finish shows the warmness of the vintage with a decadence of plum and cherry fruit.
