2023 Sidewood Abel Pinot Noir

The Gumboot clone, as legend goes it came from the DRC vineyard in Burgundy. This is the most impactful and complete of the clone series from Sidewood, a delicious drink on its own without the usual stablemates it sees in the Estate blend. 

A mix of whole berry and whole bunches, with the light red colour reflective of the approach. The nose has punchy red cherry with undergrowth and faint clove. There is elegance and power to the palate, fruit is firm and varietal with tannins that are superfine and earthen with a build of savoury impact across the journey. The length shows nice acidity that makes the wine moreish, taking you back for another sip.
