Tasting
This was tasted alongside the current release of the Dry Red No.2 and as expected the difference was marked with the 6 year old wine showing much more development with secondary notes of leather and earth starting to make themselves known.
The palate gives an integrated and complex rendition of black fruits with undergrowth and attractive wood spice. The finish has fine supporting tannins with length of plum and gentle spice.
It will be interesting to see what the change to screw cap in current vintages does for the wines when compared to cork.
