Tasting
This is a very well made wine. Looking at the label it reads 15.2 % but it's impossible to tell, it has layers of flavour that range from dark fruits and aniseed to subtle spice and even some savoury notes; more importantly it has great balance.
The nose is brimming with attractive raspberry and plum, oak given a slight vanillin lift. The wine works well against a backdrop of smokey oak, that accentuates aniseed and licorice characters against the primary plum and blackberry fruit. The tannins are in harmony with the wines other elements and do well to frame the long textural finish.
A great wine for the cellar, or now.
